A metropolitan park of cherry blossoms and autumn color beside the Lake Tama embankment — a satoyama stroll around Tatsube Pond.
Sayama Park is a metropolitan park spanning Higashimurayama and Higashiyamato. Spreading east of the embankment of Lake Tama (Murayama Reservoir), we introduce it as a nearby nature spot reachable on foot from Higashimurayama or Seibuen stations.

A metropolitan park on the south side of the Sayama Hills, spreading east of the embankment of Lake Tama (Murayama Reservoir), Tokyo's water source. It is one of the parks within Sayama Natural Park.
Inside are “Tatsube Pond (Tat-chan Pond),” ringed by coppice woods, and a bright plaza among the trees — ideal for a relaxed satoyama walk.
It has cherry varieties such as Somei Yoshino, Yamazakura and Satozakura, while the area around Tatsube Pond, with its maples and dogwoods, is lovely in spring greenery and autumn color.
It also serves as a starting point for the Lake Tama cycling road (a loop course around the lake), making it easy to combine with cycling.
