Higashimurayama has its tonkatsu favorites too
For a meal between sights, tonkatsu is a surprisingly welcome choice. Higashimurayama too has tonkatsu shops long loved by locals. One of the best known is “Tonkatsu Katsuichi” in the Kumegawa area. A long-running local institution, its cutlets — made with domestic pork and fried slowly in carefully chosen oil — have been cherished by the townsfolk as a “treat.”
Find “your shop,” not a “ranking”
This site does not publish shop scores or rankings. Gourmet-service ratings change over time, and above all, the one shop that tastes “delicious” differs from person to person. That's exactly why we encourage you to walk and find your own “favorite cutlet.” Around Higashimurayama and Kumegawa stations there are all kinds of places to eat beyond tonkatsu. For choosing a shop, the city's official food information and the various gourmet services are also useful references.
