The city's largest two days
The “Higashimurayama Citizens' Industry Fair,” held on a weekend in early November, is one of the largest events in the city. From contests and sales of locally grown farm and livestock products, to displays and sales of goods by local businesses, bazaars and exhibitions by cultural and welfare groups, and various advice corners, the whole of the town's industry and daily life is laid out. The grounds fill with people, making it a signature sight of autumn in Higashimurayama.
Plenty of “eating” to enjoy
The Industry Fair is also a perfect chance to taste Higashimurayama's “food.” Local produce, and prized items certified under the Chamber of Commerce's regional brand “Sato ni Hachikoku,” may be on display. It's a chance to meet local specialties such as Musashino udon and kuro-yakisoba (black fried noodles). Go hungry.
